Central Florida ADU Authority is a small, editorial site. We collect as little personal data as the web allows, we do not sell it, and we never will. This page describes what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
Analytics - aggregate, no cookies, no cross-site tracking. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics platform that does not use cookies, does not track individuals across sites, and is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR out of the box. We self-host our own instance of Plausible rather than using their hosted service, so this analytics data does not pass through Plausible’s servers at all - it stays entirely within our own infrastructure. Plausible tells us how many people visited a given page, roughly where in the world the traffic came from (country-level, not city), which other site referred them, and what browser category they used. It does not tell us who you are, store any identifier on your device, or follow you around the internet.
Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provided and the date of subscription. We use this information solely to send the newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or exchange these addresses. You can unsubscribe with one click from the footer of any newsletter email; unsubscribe requests are honored immediately and the email is deleted from our active list within 30 days.
Lender-introduction requests. If you use the lender-introduction form on the financing page, we store exactly what you enter: your email address, the county you select, the project stage you select, and the page you submitted from, plus a timestamp. This is stored first-party in our own infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers KV, under our account) and is used for one purpose: introducing you to a matched lender by email when one is available. It is not added to the newsletter list, not shared with anyone before that introduction, and you can have it deleted at any time by emailing hello@centralfloridaadu.com. To limit abuse of the form, a hashed rate counter derived from your connection’s IP address is kept for up to one hour; the IP itself is never stored, and no IP information is attached to your request.
Email correspondence. If you email us, we retain that email in our inbox for the duration of the correspondence plus any reasonable follow-up window. We do not add email correspondents to any marketing list automatically.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) retains standard access logs for security and operations purposes. These typically include IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. We do not access these logs in aggregate for marketing purposes. Cloudflare’s retention and handling practices are published at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
What we don’t collect
We do not run cross-site tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no LinkedIn Insight tag). We do not build profiles of individual readers. We do not collect precise geolocation. We do not ask for your name, phone number, age, income, or any other personal demographic to read the site. We do not have user accounts and never plan to.
Third parties
Beyond the analytics and hosting providers named above, no other third party receives data about you through this site. We currently have no affiliate partners and no advertising partners. If we ever add affiliate links, the partner’s own analytics would see a click arriving from our referrer, and what they collect from that point forward would be governed by their privacy policy, not ours; this page will be updated before that happens.
Cookies
We set no first-party cookies. Cloudflare may set a small number of infrastructure cookies for security and performance (for example, the bot-fight cookie __cf_bm), which are described in Cloudflare’s policy. We use no advertising cookies.
Your rights
If you subscribed to the newsletter and would like your email removed, use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or email us directly. If you live in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (California, the EU, UK, and similar), email hello@centralfloridaadu.com and we will respond within 30 days. Because we collect so little, most such requests are handled in a single email.
Children
The site is intended for adults researching construction and real-estate decisions on their own property. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we handle it, we will update this page, change the “Last updated” date above, and post a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days. For non-material changes - grammar fixes, clarifications, vendor updates - we update the date but do not post a separate notice.
Contact
Questions about privacy go to hello@centralfloridaadu.com. We respond within 48 hours on weekdays.
